Our Year 6 pupils have returned from an incredible residential visit to Ford Castle, packed with adventure, teamwork and unforgettable memories.

A Fantastic Start to the Residential

The trip got off to a brilliant start as pupils threw themselves into a range of exciting activities. Mrs Marshall's group tackled the challenge course before testing their accuracy and concentration during an archery session. Meanwhile, Mrs Rowsthorn's group enjoyed some thrilling archery before taking on an adventurous obstacle course. After a well-earned tea, the excitement continued with an evening ambush challenge.

Taking on New Challenges

After an early breakfast, pupils began another action-packed day with the zip wire and Aeroball, showing great enthusiasm and courage as they embraced every opportunity to try something new.

One of the standout moments of the residential was the Vertical Challenge, where pupils demonstrated tremendous bravery and resilience. Mrs Rowsthorn's group showed incredible determination as they faced their fears, supporting and encouraging one another every step of the way. The group also enjoyed a fencing session, developing new skills while having plenty of fun.

Teamwork, Courage and Determination

Mrs Marshall's group also channelled their inner pirates during an exciting fencing lesson that would not have looked out of place in Treasure Island! They then tackled the Vertical Challenge with determination and confidence, giving their all and showing fantastic perseverance throughout.

It was wonderful to see pupils encouraging one another and celebrating each other's successes. Their teamwork, positivity and resilience were evident throughout the residential.

An Exciting Final Day

The final morning brought even more adventure as pupils took on the Leap of Faith trapeze before working together to complete a series of problem-solving challenges. These activities provided the perfect opportunity to put their communication, teamwork and leadership skills into practice.

Memories to Last a Lifetime

Throughout the residential, our Year 6 pupils have been a credit to St John Vianney. They demonstrated excellent behaviour, embraced every challenge and supported one another through every activity.

As the journey home began, pupils left Ford Castle with new friendships, increased confidence and memories they will cherish for years to come.

Well done, Year 6, on an amazing few days at Ford Castle. What an adventure!
