Our Year 6 pupils had an exciting and enriching day exploring Durham, taking part in a range of activities that brought learning to life.
Discovering University Life
The day began with a tour of Durham University, including a full visit to Collingwood College. Pupils had the opportunity to sit in a lecture theatre and ask questions about university life, gaining valuable insight into future pathways.
Science in Action
In the afternoon, pupils took part in a series of engaging science experiments, working alongside university staff and developing their curiosity and understanding through hands‑on experiences.
Stepping Back in Time
The group then visited Castle College, where they explored the history of the site and enjoyed a fun and informative trail. This was followed by time at Durham Cathedral, where pupils used their creative skills to sketch the stunning interior.
A Memorable End to the Day
The visit concluded with pupils attending Evensong, providing a peaceful and reflective end to a busy day of learning and discovery.
A fantastic day filled with exploration, inspiration and unforgettable experiences — well done, Year 6!
